How to enter the BIOS on a Lenovo laptop.

Folding

Have a nice day.

Lenovo is one of the most popular laptop manufacturers.

Before speaking, I’m sorry to tell you (with special confession), laptops are a nuisance and a waste of time.

And there is one feature that certain models of these laptops have - an emergency login to the BIOS (and logging into it is often necessary, for example, to reinstall Windows).

This is a relatively small stat, I would like to take a look at the features of the entrance. Entering the BIOS on a Lenovo laptop (instructions)

1) To access the BIOS on Lenovo laptops (on most models), it is enough to press the F2 button (or Fn+F2) while it is turned on.:

However, some models may not respond to this pressure.

(for example, Lenovo Z50, Lenovo G50, and the entire model range: g505, v580c, b50, b560, b590, g50, g500, g505s, g570, g570e, g580, g700, z500, z580 may not work) Keys for entering the BIOS for various PCs and laptops

2) Most refurbished models have a special button on the side panel (check with the power cable) (for example, the Lenovo G50 model (see Fig. 2).

You need to go into the BIOS

: turn on the laptop, and then press this button (there is an arrow on it, although I admit that on some models there may not be arrows...).

Before we speak, an important moment.

Not all Lenovo laptop models have this button on the side.

For example, on a Lenovo G480 laptop, this button is assigned to the laptop’s power button (div. Fig. 2.1).

3) If everything was done correctly, the laptop should shut down and a service menu with several items will appear on the screen (div. Fig. 3):

  • Bios Setup (setting up the BIOS);
  • Boot Menu (more advanced menu);
  • System Recovery (emergency system update).
  • To go to the BIOS, select Bios Setup (BIOS setup and setup).

Before speaking, it may be necessary for anyone: in Fig.

After changing everyone's settings, don't forget to save them.

For this, in the EXIT section, select “Save and exit”.

After restarting the laptop, the installation of Windows 7 may begin.

5) Even laptop models, for example Lenovo b590 and v580c, where you may need the F12 button to enter the BIOS.

Press this key immediately after turning on the laptop - you can go to Quick Boot (menu) - where you can easily change the order of accessing various devices (HDD, CD-Rom, USB).

6) The F1 key is very rarely used.

You may need this if you are a victor of a Lenovo b590 laptop.

Press and release the key after pressing the device.

The BIOS menu itself changes little from the standard one.

I will stay…

Virobnik recommends charging the laptop battery sufficiently before entering the BIOS.

If during the process of adjusting and installing parameters in the BIOS of the device, it will crash (due to a power failure) - there may be problems in the further operation of the laptop.

To be honest, I’m not ready to comment on the remaining recommendation: I didn’t have any problems with the PC when I was in the BIOS settings.

Hello admin!

Having recently purchased a laptop from Lenovo and decided to download it thoroughly, I found that on the official website of the laptop there are drivers for my model, starting with Windows XP and ending with Windows 10. The infection is installed on the laptop dows 8.1, I want to reinstall it on Windows 7 , but I’m stuck at the most basic thing, I can’t get to the laptop’s BIOS to enable the Secure Boot option.

When pressed, I press F2 and nothing appears, including the Delete button.

What is it timid?

Hello friends! There are three easy ways to get to the BIOS of a Lenovo laptop, and I’ll tell you about them in today’s article. I will also reveal two secrets that will help you get to the BIOS of a laptop of any kind, since there is no other way to get out.

And finally, you will find out how to use the Lenovo laptop menu in the menu (about any problem, you will need a rapport). How to get to BIOS on a Lenovo laptop using the Novo Button,

Almost all Lenovo laptops have a special button - “Novo Button” (sometimes also called “OneKey Recovery” or “OneKey Rescue System”), depicted by a curved arrow, located either on the front panel or on the side of the computer device.

Parameters of the installed UEFI software.

When you have a new computer, there is a clear need for reassigned BIOS (and UEFI) parameters - microprograms that are responsible for the initial process of turning on the PC.

We will look at how to enter the BIOS/UEFI interface on Lenovo laptops, as well as provide recommendations for troubleshooting common problems that can complicate things.

What are your BIOS and UEFI needs?

Microprograms can be used to initialize the main computing nodes (either installed or connected to the motherboard) of the computer and start them when the computer is turned on.

The BIOS contains multiple settings for all electronic components of the PC - starting from the life controller and data transfer interfaces to RAM, video adapter and processor.

After setting up the BIOS, the motherboard installs other operating parameters for these devices, enables/disables additional functions, options, etc.

By default, most microprogram parameters are set to the “Auto” position.

This makes it possible to connect external devices to the system board without the need to permanently reconfigure the BIOS/UEFI.

However, in such situations you cannot do without it.

When entering the BIOS and UEFI interfaces (especially), pressing standard hotkeys does not work.

  • For safety reasons or for any other reason, a combination of keys may be used to enter the firmware setup, for example:
  • Almost all Lenovo laptop models have an additional function key “Fn”.
  • Try pressing one of the standard hotkeys at once - “F2”, “Delete”, “F10”, etc.

Another option is to press “Ctrl” or “Shift” at the same time using standard keys.

You can also try a more complex combination with three keys, for example - “Ctrl + Shift + F2”.

  • Entering BIOS using the "Novo Button" button
  • Many models of Lenovo laptops of the last generation are now equipped with an additional functional button “Novo Button”.
  • To help you get to the BIOS interface:
  • Find the "Novo Button" key.
  • Make sure you click on the power button of your laptop and there will be an image on its surface that looks like a curved arrow.

Press and hold “Novo Button”, and then press the power button on the laptop.

As soon as the laptop gets warm (the cooling fans start to turn on), release the function button.

If everything went well, a small menu will appear on the screen - “Novo Button Menu”, under which a number of items will be displayed.

Select the “BIOS Setup” item using the additional arrow keys on the keyboard and go to the next additional “Enter” key.

In some cases, it is not necessary to avoid pressing the “Novo Button” key and pressing the power button.

All you have to do is press (or press) the function button – the laptop will close and a submenu will appear on the screen.

  • Can't enter BIOS on Lenovo laptop
  • Remove all the small covers that are located in the back of the laptop case, under which the RAM sticks, hard drive, Wi-Fi card and other devices are installed.
  • Carefully look around the entire area under the removed covers to find the so-called.
  • A BIOS battery that looks like this:
  • If there are some important devices (hard disk, hard drive, etc.) the battery does not show up, it is possible that it is removed under them.
  • Remove electronic components and inspect the area underneath them.
  • If there are no batteries under them, remove the entire back cover of the case.
  • Depending on the design of the specific Lenovo laptop model, the BIOS battery may be located in the area under the keyboard.
  • If you decide to lose your laptop, you will have to take it apart completely.
  • As soon as the battery is found, remove it from the socket.

Wait for about 30 seconds and install the BIOS battery in place.

The BIOS/UEFI settings will be reset.

Flashing BIOS/UEFI

  • Over time, the BIOS and UEFI microprograms will be updated by the software developers.
  • If the operating system has never been installed on the laptop and/or the Lenovo system programs have not been uninstalled, then when an updated version is released, a corresponding notification is displayed on the screen or the update is completed automatically.
  • If for some reason this does not happen, the BIOS and UEFI can be updated independently.
  • Check the current BIOS version now:
  • Press the Win+R keys simultaneously.

Type "cmd" in the window that has opened and click "OK".

  • The command line appears.
  • Enter the command “wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion” in the window, and then press the enter key.
  • It will look like this:
  • Under the writing "SMBBIOSBIOSVersion" the current BIOS version will be presented.
  • Write it down and remember it.
  • To update the BIOS on a Lenovo laptop:
  • Go to the Lenovo support website - support.lenovo.com.
  • In the search row “Find your product”, enter the laptop model.
  • The file with the view "xxx.exe" will be selected, and instead of "xxx" the character set will be specified.
  • Run the installer file and select “Install”.
  • After unpacking is complete, a new window will open, in which click the “Flash BIOS” button.
  • Click the "OK" button to start the BIOS/UEFI update process.
  • After re-installing, try to access the BIOS/UEFI computer interface using one of the methods shown on the top of this page.

When installing the same BIOS version that was already on the computer, the settings will be reset.

This article describes a universal algorithm for how to enter Bios at Lenovo.

Most often, this operation ends when the operating system is reinstalled or when problems arise.

Once everything is clear with stationary PCs, then with laptops you have to tinker, since there are a number of options here and you need to know which of them is suitable for this particular device.
