Schell Morten Johnsen, CEO of VimpelCom PJSC, during a press conference formulated his vision of this platform in just a few words: “VEON is a platform that unites everything that people need in life”. It is clear that the statement is "loud" and exaggerated, but it gives an idea of \u200b\u200bthe ambitiousness of the tasks that were set.
One can agree with Mr. Johnsen in many ways. Of course, in relation to a certain audience of users, but this audience is very large, and is also rapidly growing and expanding. The concept of a single point of access to everything consumed in the network. Let us recall, for example, many users of VKontakte, for whom the entire Internet begins and ends with this social network. In VEON, this is the concept of mobility, the implementation and approaches are different, but the idea is similar. Will it work? We'll see. In any case, Beeline did a lot to make it work. VEON includes information channels from popular Internet publications, as well as channels with video and photographic materials. There are not just a lot of channels, there are a lot of them. Thanks to the predictive platform built into VEON, the content inside the application can, at the request of the user, be more accurately adjusted to his preferences. Also dozens of selected films that you can watch without leaving the application, as well as access to the content of popular TV channels. True, in the description I read about the restriction on video viewing, no more than 10 (films?) Per week. It must be checked empirically. In the future, they promise the opportunity to subscribe to events relevant to the user and "unique information channels of celebrities and brands", hmm ...
Special offers, promotions and discounts on goods and services are available for VEON users. Among the first partners of the application in Russia is an integrated operator combining offers from companies specializing in the production and sale of a wide variety of goods and services - fashionable clothes, modern electronics, books, travel and much more. Chat rooms
The interface is nice, the fonts are good. As in analogs, there are indicators of message reception at the other end: one checkmark - went to the server, two - received on the subscriber's phone, two blue ticks - the addressee has read it. If you do not want your interlocutors to know whether you have read the message or not, this option can be disabled in the settings. Tap on a message - you will see the exact time it was received / sent. Group chats look like regular chats, only there are several participants in them. There is a built-in collection of emoticons, they are drawn well. In addition to them, you can attach GIFs, photos, videos to messages. All data is sent very quickly, notifications come instantly, there are no problems with the VEON servers. Unfortunately, you cannot edit or delete posts yet, but these options will appear in VEON updates. In chats, you can send audio messages.
VEON also has calls. You can make calls both via mobile Internet and Wi-Fi. The connection is stable, the voice quality is excellent.
Not only communication
The application has an interesting tab - "Channels". This is the very news that will appear in your feed. The list is for every taste and will continue to expand. There is not much to say about the interface, since it is quite simple here. Everything is done in white and yellow. The messenger logo appears all the time. But there are some differences regarding other similar utilities, since this is a media platform. The main page is busy with a news feed. There is something similar in social networks. Not only chats with your friends appear here, but also news, promotional offers and new films.
Communication
To start chatting with someone, just click on the icon in the upper right corner. It is similar to the ones you have already seen in e-mail. You can also open contacts and see the names of friends who have already installed Veon for themselves. There will be an icon opposite their name, as is the case with other instant messengers.

Of course, appearance is subjective, but everything looks very good. There are no details that would be annoying.
If you've started a conversation with someone, then you need to know about message indicators. If you see one checkmark under it - the message has been sent to the server, if two - then the user received it, if two are blue - it means he read it.
Interestingly, if you do not want your interlocutors to find out about the messages you have read, you can turn off this feature in the settings.
Group chat is unremarkable. He is just like an individual. The name of the group is indicated at the top, then messages of all participants are displayed.
In chats you will find everything you need for interesting communication. There is a collection of emoticons, gifs, and photos with clips. If you look at the reviews about Veon ("Beeline"), then we can confidently say that the application works quickly, without delays. No server problems were noticed either.
Calls
Among the users, using this application, you can make calls. To do this, you just need to have a good mobile Internet or connect via Wi-Fi. To make a call, you need to click on the handset icon and select the interlocutor from the list of contacts.
Education
Next to the "Contacts" tab, you will see the "Channels" section. Here are the news that are displayed on the main page. There is a whole list of different services, news portals, notifications from different sites that you can subscribe to.
There are already a lot of them in the Russian version of the application. There are news of sports, culture, politics, travel, useful tips, promotions and discounts. If we take the Ukrainian Veon, then the number of channels is still meager.
So far, there is no opportunity to create their own channels, as Telegram has.
