Loads pages to google chrome. What to do if google chrome won't open pages

Alas, no matter how reliable the browser is, it happens that it fails. And as usual, this misfortune arises (you cannot name it otherwise!), According to the rule of the law of meanness - at the most inopportune moment. Sometimes Google Chrome does not open the page. A shame, and nothing more! Here you need to look at the mail, and download a new game from the torrent tracker, and look in VKontakte ... But he is not in any - the sites do not open. Of course, in certain situations, you can use another browser. But still I want to figure it out: why does Google Chrome not open the pages and how to fix this problem?

We give detailed answers to all these questions in this article. It will help you heal Chromium from this ailment. Tells you what to do when your web browser is not responding to network requests.

Let's consider in order all the causes of the problem and their elimination.

No internet connection

Check if there is, in general, a connection to the global network on the computer. Launch some network program - messenger, another browser, torrent client. Analyze their work. If there is no connection, data from the Internet is not downloaded in all applications, there is a high probability that the problem is in the Internet channel. Either at the hardware level or at the software level.

Note. If only Google Chrome does not open the pages, see other ways to solve the problem.

First of all, run the diagnostics:
1. In the tray, on the desktop, right-click the Network (display) icon.

2. In the pop-up panel, click "Network Center ...".

3. View the connection status at the top of the window that opens.

4. If there is no Network, in the same window, in the "Change network settings" menu, click "Troubleshoot".

5. Then tap "Connect to the Internet".

7. Wait for the diagnosis to complete. Follow system directions.

8. Additionally, in the same way, check the settings "Network adapter", "Incoming connections" (menu items below).

Additionally, check the network connections: telephone line cables, sockets and plugs, modem. Any of the links in the chain can cause an interruption in the Internet connection.

Add-ins in the HOST file

The HOSTS system file stores network redirection add-ons. Even if you did not enter any data into it, someone could or could have contributed something for you. For example, another user, an administrator (if the PC is in the office) or some kind of virus (of which there is darkness in the web valleys of the Network!). And, accordingly, all these changes in HOSTS can lead to the fact that pages are selectively loaded in Google Chrome (some - yes, others - no) or not at all. That is, access to web resources is blocked through system settings.

To restore the original add-ins in HOSTS, follow these steps:
1. Click the "Start" button.

2. In the search menu bar, enter:
% SystemRoot% \\ system32 \\ drivers \\ etc \\ hosts

3. In the "Program Selection" window, click the "Notepad" icon. Click OK.

4. A window with the contents of the HOSTS file will appear.

5. If there are any entries after the line "# :: 1 localhost", delete them. Then save your changes. In the "Notepad" menu, click: File → Save → in the additional window the "Save" button.

6. After making changes, all pages in Chrome should open (if it was only in the HOSTS settings).

DNS problem

Incorrect DNS server settings are also one of the main obstacles to accessing sites in a web browser.

To configure DNS routing in Windows, follow these steps:

1. Request a ping of the Google DNS server. To find out if there is a connection with it, and how long it takes for the machine to establish a connection with it:

  • in the search bar of the Start menu type - CMD;
  • left-click on the CMD icon that appears at the top of the panel;
  • in the command line console line enter the directive - ping google.ru
  • read the test results;
  • if there is no connection (the message "could not find the google.ru host" appeared), proceed with the subsequent steps of this instruction, if the parameters indicate a connection and the ping value is relatively small, it makes sense to consider other ways to troubleshoot Chrome (when sites).

2. Click the "network connection" icon in the tray. Click in the "Control Center ..." panel.

3. In the panel, select Local Area Connection.

4. In the "Status" window, click the "Properties" button.

5. In the "Selected components ..." block, select the line "Protocol ... TCP / IPv4" and click "Properties".

6. In the lower block, install the "Use the following DNS server addresses" add-on.

Enter the IP addresses of the DNS server from Google:

  • preferred - 8.8.8.8
  • alternative - 8.8.4.4

Or use the addresses of another trusted DNS server (for example, Yandex).

7. After entering the data, click "OK".

Fake routes

A fake redirection can sneak into the routing table, due to which Chrome does not load pages in tabs. There are usually quite a few entries in the table. And in order not to deal with all the data separately, they can be reset using a special command. This global reset will not negatively affect the functioning of the system in any way. After resetting, address blocking can be eliminated and, accordingly, the browser can be restored.

  1. Open a command line console (see previous instructions).
  2. Enter the command - route –f
  3. Close the console, restart your computer.

TCP / IP parameters

As in the previous case, a global reset helps to get Chrome to work. In this case, you need to reset the TCP / IP network protocol parameters:

1. At the command prompt, type the command - netsh winsock reset
And press "Enter".

2. Then run the command - netsh int ip reset

3. When the procedure is complete, restart your computer.

Blocking by security software

Antiviruses and firewalls can prevent pages from loading in case of false positives, as well as when their settings are incorrectly changed by the user (blocking, filtering rules).

You can check their involvement in the problem by disabling. Go to the security software menu and activate the complete disable option. Then launch Google Chrome and check it works. If the pages are loading, then you need to deal with the antivirus or firewall settings.

If it is difficult to identify the "incorrect" setting in the anti-virus application options, you can perform a global reset of the settings to the "default" state. Most antivirus products have this button.

Additionally, disable Windows Firewall - integrated firewall:

1. In the search for the Start menu, search for Windows Firewall. Click the icon of the same name in the search results.

2. In the new window go to the section "Enabling and disabling ...".

3. Perform deactivation.

3. Check if Google Chrome is working.

Viruses

Computer viruses are essentially designed to harm users' computers. Blocking access to websites in the browser is one of their many "black missions".

You can use special anti-virus scanners to identify malware that interferes with the operation of Chrome:

Malwarebytes FREE is a powerful protection tool. It can be used in the system as the main one, as an auxiliary antivirus.

Adwcleaner is a scanner that effectively removes adware and spyware in browsers and system directories.

Reinstallation

When it is not possible to identify the cause of the problem, you can resort to drastic measures. Namely, reinstall the web browser "clean".

It is worth noting that this method will require a special cleaning program. As part of the article, we will consider the use case for Revo Uninstaller:
1. Run Revo Uninstaller.

2. On the "All Programs" tab, left-click on the "Google Chrome" icon.

3. Click the Delete button.

4. Perform standard uninstallation.

5. Return to the cleaner interface. Set and run the maximum scan mode.

6. Remove all found remnants of Chrome in directories and registry.

7. Open another browser (you can use built-in Internet Explorer, or Edge).

8. In the Google search engine, make a request - download google chrome.

10. Click the Download button.

11. Follow the instructions of the installer.

In order to quickly restore the work of Chrome, initially try to determine the exact cause of its failure (connection, software conflicts, incorrect network settings). If the download problem is observed only on certain sites, try to find out if their provider or developers are blocking them by IP. In this case, you need to use fundamentally different means to load the page - add-ons that configure the connection through a proxy server.

Quick and successful Google Chrome settings!

I have Yandex Browser, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers on my computer. For the purity of the experiment, Mozilla Firefox was also installed. In short, all browsers except Chrome start almost instantly. Google Chrome takes a very long time to start. What's in the way? Tell me some solution. Thanks.

all bullshit. the problem is in chrome itself, namely, in its unhealthy appetite for disk cache, which, moreover, cannot be turned off.

This is not an answer, but an appeal to Martha: Thank you so much. Guys! Learn from your girl how to answer questions. No need to show off, so as not to say it differently. A person, including me, turns to experts not from a good life, but from his pain in the hope of help. If you don't know, then there is nothing to demonstrate your stupidity. The moderator is kindly requested to publish my appeal. Thanks.

If all else fails, then you need to remove it ha * but also install a normal browser. Which I did.

Read attentively. Martha explained it clearly at the end. If you are an expert on porn, then you shouldn't use chrome.

This is bullshit - nothing helps ...

Try to make a banal cache clearing. To do this, find the "Personal data" item in the browser settings. Next to this item there is a button "Clear history", you need to click on this button. And then check the box next to "Images and other files saved in the cache". When checked, click on "Clear History". If it doesn't help, then try resetting your browser settings. To do this, find the "Reset settings" button at the very bottom of the browser settings window. If this does not help, then reinstall the browser.

If the Google Crome browser takes a very long time to launch and all other browsers behave normally, then there is some isolated problem. First, try disabling hardware acceleration in Google Chrome. To do this, you need to enter the browser settings. You can use the button, you can type the command chrome: // settings / in the address bar. Click on the "Show advanced settings" button. Find and uncheck the Use hardware acceleration checkbox. After that, it is advisable to restart the computer.

If that doesn't help, then disable all extensions. just disable, do not delete. Then you can return to them. If this did not help, we proceed to a complete reset of Google Chrome settings.

Open the browser settings menu (see above for how to do this). Click the button "Show advanced settings" and in the opened options find "Reset browser settings." Click. An additional window with a warning will open.

It should be borne in mind that a reset will return all settings to their default values. I.e:
1. Cookies and site data will be deleted, and with them all authorization to them.
2. Extensions and themes will be disabled.
3. The search engine you have chosen will be replaced with the default one.
4. The "Home" button will be removed. Plus, the URL for it will be removed.
5. The next time you start the browser, it will open as a single blank tab. If you had any settings, then they will fly off. Pinned tabs will also fly off.

If all of the above does not scare you, click "Reset".

There is a small percentage of cases when this extreme measure also fails. Then you will need to look for some harmful and bad among the applications installed on the computer, which climbs into Chrome with its tentacles and changes its settings.

Google Chrome, however, like any other browser, should not actively consume processor resources. An exception may be cases when the flash player works on very weak or old computers. On modern PCs and laptops with at least average performance, a processor load of over 90% can take place, but for this, resource-intensive tasks such as video playback in 8K / 4K must be launched in Chrome. If an 8K / 4K video is not played in Chrome, some powerful browser toy is not running, other operations that are comparable in power consumption of resources are not processed, but the Windows task manager shows that the processor is loaded by the browser almost to the limit, probably someone and is enriched at your expense. How to get rid of miner in Chrome?

So, in the Windows Task Manager, we see how the browser almost completely loads the processor.

The Chrome support site itself recommends in such cases:

Clear the history;

Upgrade to the latest browser version;

Scan your browser with the built-in malware search engine.

The first two options will help, well, in very rare cases. Searching for malware will probably resolve the issue.

But only if it can find malicious codes. Chrome's built-in malware search tool itself periodically scans the browser in the background, and if it found something, it would already notify us about it. It is not a fact that hidden miners in extensions or on sites open in the browser will be detected as malware. You can run a scan with an antivirus installed in the Windows environment or special utilities to search for potentially dangerous software such as AdwCleaner. But here, too, success will not be guaranteed in every case. The miner hidden in the browser can be calculated as follows.

How to find a hidden miner in Chrome

Launch the Chrome Task Manager with the Shift + Esc keys. We click on the "CPU" column to build a list of processes in descending order. In our case, the first, most actively using the processor resource, we see a certain process "Subframe: https://staticset.com/". We make a double click on it.

So, we found the culprit of the active absorption of the processor resource. If this is a tab of a site, close it. If this is an extension, first disable it.

Now we are testing Chrome under different loads - we just open websites, launch videos and flash games. And we monitor the load on the processor in the Windows task manager. In our case, disabling the extension solved the problem. With the same active tabs, the processor is loaded by 5-10%.

Now all that remains is to go to the extensions section and remove Stop Ads.

Well, we just forget about a site that dishonestly mines cryptocurrency.

How to protect yourself from hidden mining in Chrome

How to prevent hidden miners from appearing in Chrome for the future? For these purposes, the browser store has special extensions such as MineBlock, No Coin and their analogues. You can resort to at the Windows level, such as entering a list of domains of known sites caught in mining in the hosts file. The disadvantage of any kind of methods to combat illegal mining of cryptocurrency is that software for hidden mining and sites that make money in this way from their visitors appear every day. Where is the guarantee that the creator of some harmless extension, say, for implementing the reading mode or customizing the start page tomorrow will not sell his soul to the devil and will not start making money on you? So, not a single browser extension like "Antiminer", not even a single antivirus with regularly updated databases will provide complete, 100% protection against this evil.

If you usually visit trusted sites with a good reputation, if you do not indiscriminately experiment with new Chrome extensions every day, it is enough to just keep an eye on system performance. If the system starts to slow down terribly, and this is due to Chrome, you will need to do what, in fact, is suggested in this article above.

Today we are going to talk about the problems related to the Google Chrome internet browser. It is one of the most widely used browsers in the world today and has gained fame in just a few years. And all because it turned out to be extremely successful in all aspects of the word. Nevertheless, even with "Chrome" problems and malfunctions can arise. What to do in such cases? This is what I will tell you today.

Chrome slows down

  • If you are experiencing problems when opening the browser itself, then the easiest method to solve the possible problem is to reinstall the program. To do this, go to the official website and download the browser from there. We completely remove "Chrome" from the computer, not forgetting to get rid of the tails, as well as save the necessary data (passwords, logins, etc.). After that, install the browser. By the way, you can try to simply update it if you have disabled auto-update, which is unlikely, as I was talking about in one of the previous articles.
  • Be sure to disable all installed extensions (Settings - Extensions). Disable extensions in turn and check the browser's functionality. Keep in mind that extensions may have been installed completely by accident, with little or no knowledge of you, so you don't need to discount them.
  • In some cases, the problem can occur in cases where the cache is so huge that it causes "lags". We must remove it. About that, I wrote a few months ago. The same article explains how to use CCleaner for this procedure.
  • If braking or even freezing occurs when watching, for example, a video on YouTube, then the first thing. And do not forget that not all even relatively powerful computers are able to cope with this very flash. For example, if you have several windows open with video recordings, such brakes can be taken for granted.

Google Chrome won't start

Here's what Google itself writes about this problem:

Some antivirus programs and firewalls may prevent Google Chrome from opening on your computer.

  • This suggests that Google Chrome needs to be added to the favorites list of the same firewall or antivirus. To make sure that the problem is really in them, turn off this software for a while and if the browser starts up, then our conjectures turned out to be correct.
  • We must not forget that such troubles can be caused by malicious files that have entered your computer. Therefore, be sure to scan your PC for viruses and Trojans using the installed antivirus, and do not forget to use an antivirus utility, for example, the same CureIt from Dr. Web.

Google Chrome does not open pages

It also happens when Chrome does not want to open pages. Generally. It just loads the page all the time, but doesn't open it. The author of the lines has personally encountered such a problem.

  • The first thing to do is scan your computer for malicious files. Most likely the problem lies precisely in the "nasty" that blocks the browser's access to the World Wide Web.
  • If this does not help, then try simply reinstalling the browser, as described a few lines earlier. After that, install the distribution kit downloaded from the official website.
  • And only in those cases, if nothing worked for you, or rather, the program still refuses to open pages, then write the -no-sandbox switch in the shortcut properties, as shown in the screenshot. Actually, I decided to leave this method for last for a reason, but because in this case the browser opens without a so-called sandbox, which prevents scripts and files from affecting your computer and other programs. Therefore, I would not recommend using this method even if the browser is still working.

Do you have questions about this article? Ask them!

Surely, many of us have a Google Chrome browser equipped with multifunctional tools installed on their computers. Users opted for it because it makes our life much easier. Despite the many advantages of working with chrome, there are still some disadvantages.

And perhaps, working with it, you sometimes had problems, for example, when the browser did not start or it was very slow and took a long time to open. Many people immediately panic about what to do, where to go, who should carry the computer. Do not hurry. Perhaps your browser has frozen for reasons that you can fix yourself at home. Therefore, the main thing is to first understand the causes and factors of this problem, and then take some decisions and actions.

Reasons why chrome won't start

Google Chrome may not open for some reason, which we will deal with in detail below:

Troubleshooting methods

Having dealt with the reasons, now you can safely proceed to solving these problems.

  • Reboot your personal computer. Then try logging into chrome again;
  • If, nevertheless, it turned out that the problem was in the operation of antivirus programs, then you should enter the settings of the protective services and specify the allowed status. Or, simply add chrome to the list of exceptions for antivirus or firewall;
  • If the reason was a damaged profile, then you should create a new profile.

To do this, close your browser. Next, open Windows Explorer or the key combination "Win + E"). After opening the window, you must enter the following actions in the address bar, for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10 users, enter% LOCALAPPDATA% \\ Google \\ Chrome \\ User Data \\.

Now you need to press the "Enter" key. After that, a list of folders and files of the browser will open, where find the "Default" folder and rename it, for example, "Backup Default". If everything worked out, then Google Chrome will open with the configured default components, and a new folder will appear “Default”;

  • If you have an outdated version of the video card driver, then restart the Windows automatic update system, after which the drivers will be automatically updated. If it is impossible to do this on your PC, you will have to install a fresh driver;
  • If you nevertheless find viruses or "broken" programs on your device, then you need to clean your PC with an antivirus. Although usually in such a situation, Google Chrome independently suggests actions to fix the problem, which is very convenient;
  • If the above methods did not help, then delete and re-download Chrome. Reinstallation often fixes problems with plugins, flash, etc.
