KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter (version at the time of writing - v0.8.9 RC6) is the creation of the Russian programmer Mikhail Raevsky (aka KiberPsih). The main functionality of the program is to create screenshots (screenshots) and then save them to the hard disk of your computer or upload them to a remote server.

Starting from v0.8.9 RC6, in addition to Russian, the KISS program has been translated into Ukrainian and English.

The software is in beta testing, but according to the author's statements, over time, the project will certainly go into the release stage.

Why KISS?

Despite the name, which is far from the most successful from a marketing point of view, the project has found its many admirers.

The most important advantage of the KISS screenshot is its minimalism, which combines the maximum of necessary functions and high performance.

What kind of pictures can I take?

In the extreme version of KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter out of the box, the following options for creating a screenshot are available:

  • the entire screen (Print Screen key);
  • an arbitrary area (by default, called by the Windows key + A keyboard shortcut);
  • active window (Ctrl + Alt + PrintScr);
  • getting the image in the clipboard (Shift + PrintScr).

Please note that some hotkeys may conflict with shortcuts used in other programs and even the OS shell itself. For example, in Windows 10, the combination Win + A will give you access to the Action Center. In this and similar cases, the standard hotkey must be reassigned in the program settings.

Unfortunately, KISS does not support a number of features found in other more famous screenshots (such as Snagit or Lightshot). Among them: GIF creation, scrolling window screenshot, video capture and others.

The most important argument for KISS

First, we repeat, the program is extremely fast and consumes a minimum amount of computer resources.

Secondly, in addition to saving screenshots, KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter allows you to upload them to a picture hosting or your own FTP server.

Where can I upload a screenshot?

Version v0.8.9 gives the user the ability to upload the resulting screenshot to one of the many image hosting sites, including:

It remains only to choose which of the offered services you like and has the best quality characteristics (for example, the storage time of files).

What about FTP?

Using your own file server when working with KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter has both pros and cons. The positive aspects include confidentiality and confidence in the future, unlimited storage time - by taking a screenshot today, you can be sure of its availability in the future.

Of the minuses - only the financial side of the issue. Good FTP comes at a price, although it's worth noting that almost everyone can afford this type of service these days.

FTP setup for KISS

Configuring the KiberInfinity's Screen Shooter program to upload the received screenshots to an FTP server is a simple task consisting of several steps (an example is given below):

  1. Specifying the IP address and port of your FTP server.
  2. Selecting the server operating mode (FTP Mode): passive or active.
  3. Specifying authorization data on the server (login and password).
  4. Specifying your FTP working directory (/ - server root).
  5. Specifies the base FTP URL.
  6. Choosing the location and format of files when saving to the hard drive.

Additional features

In addition to the so-called "classic", the KISS screenshot has some interesting additional features.

Google image search

Using the keyboard shortcut Win + Shift + A allows you to select an area of \u200b\u200bthe image and find it in the Google search engine.

The result will be:

  • dialogue bubble;
  • text (in the new version it can be rotated);
