How to cut out a child image in Photoshop cs6. How to cut any objects in Adobe Photoshop

It used to be popular to be photographed in a studio, so that later the photographer would process your photos and replace the background. Now you can do it all yourself. All you need is a digital photo, a computer, and Adobe Photoshop.

In this article, we will look at how to cut a person from a photo in Photoshop and then paste it onto another image. If you want, you can also make a black and white image from a color one. By clicking on the link, you can read an article on this topic.

Let's take two photos as an example. With the first one we will cut out the seated man and paste him on another background, for the background we will use the second photo.

We will start with how cut photo in Photoshop... In order to do this, you must first select the person correctly. There are several ways to select in Photoshop, using different tools. Read the article by following the link and choose the one that best suits the person you want to cut from the photo.

If in the photo there is a girl with developing hair, or a guy's hair sticks out in different directions, read: How to select hair in Photoshop.

Open the image with a man. On the Toolbar, select the "Quick Selection Tool" (Quick Selection). Now you need to select the person in the photo. To do this, click on it with the mouse, the selected area will be marked with a dotted line, and after each click it will expand.

If you have an extra background selected, press "Alt" and click on this area to subtract it from the selection. You can also click on the brush with a minus in the tool settings. Also choose a suitable size for the selection brush.

After the man in the photo is completely selected, go to the layers palette. Here you need to unlock the background layer. We click on it twice with the mouse. You don't need to change anything in the next dialog box, click OK. After that, the lock opposite the "Background" layer will disappear.

If this is not done, the cut-out person in the photo will appear on a white background. We need a transparent background so that we can insert the person into another photo.

Now we invert the selection: press the "Ctrl + Shift + I" keys. We do this so that not the person himself is highlighted in the photo, but the background around him.

Press the "Ctrl + X" keys. Thus, we cut out the person from the photo in Photoshop. Black and white squares indicate that it is on a transparent background. You can save a person with a transparent background in Photoshop and then paste it onto any other image.

So, we moved on to the second part of the article. let's change the background for the photo in Photoshop.

Open a photo or image that will be used as a new background. In the example, these are mountains. On the Toolbar, select the "Move Tool" and drag it onto the photo with the cut person.

Go to the layers palette and place the layer with the new background at the very bottom: drag it using the mouse.

Due to the fact that the two photos were of different resolutions, the size of the image of the mountains is very large in relation to the cut out person. Apply a free transform to the image.

On the layers palette, select with the mouse the layer on which the photograph of the mountains is located, in the example it is "Layer 1", and press the combination "Ctrl + T". A frame with markers appears around the image. To reduce the photo size, drag any marker with the mouse. To maintain the proportions, press and hold the Shift key.

Let's reduce the size of the man in the same way. But now on the layers palette, select the layer where the cut person is.

As a result, we got this image.

As you can see, cutting out a person from a photo in Photoshop and then replacing the background in the photo is not that difficult. Try it a few times and it will get better and better.

If you need to cut an object from a photo and paste it onto another image or background, then there are various ways in Photoshop for this. In this article, we will cut out a bouquet of flowers and paste it on a photo with a vase. We will also consider how you can cut out a person in Photoshop, and then replace the background for him.

In order to make it easy to cut out objects, you need to choose a suitable selection method for them in Photoshop. It can be a simple selection, and with the help of Lasso, Magic Wand, Color Channels, Masking. Read the detailed article by following the link.

Selecting an object using Color Channels is described in detail in the article: how to cut and paste an image in Photoshop. As an example, I cut out the crown of the trees.

So, we have two images: from the first we will cut out the desired object, and on the second we will paste. To select objects, use the Quick Selection tool.

How to cut out an object in Photoshop

Open the photo with the bouquet: "File" - "Open" or "Ctrl + O".

In order to cut an image from the background, you first need to select it. On the Toolbar, select the "Quick Selection Tool" (Quick Selection).

Now we click on the colors, each time expanding, thus, the selection area: it will be highlighted with a dotted line. Selecting a brush with a plus sign in the tool settings - the area will be added, with a minus - subtracted. The size of the selection brush also changes here.

To subtract an area from the selection, you can also hold down the "Alt" key on the keyboard and click on the extra area with the mouse. You can change the size of the brush using the "(" and ")" buttons - one press decreases / increases by 1 px.

As a result, you need to completely select the object to be cut.

Go to the "Layers" palette, create a new layer here. To do this, click on the "Create a new layer" icon.

Select the layer with the main image and press the key combination "Ctrl + X". This will cut the object out of the background in Photoshop.

How to insert an image in Photoshop

The next thing to do is paste the cut object onto another image.

Go to the new layer that we created, "Layer 1" and press "Ctrl + V". Next you need to hide the "Background" layer - remove the eye in front of it in the layers palette. If you want, you can delete it: select the layer with the mouse and in the layers palette click on the trash can in the lower right corner.

Open the second image in Photoshop - with a vase, into which we will insert the cut out bouquet.

Select the "Move Tool" from the Toolbar. Then click on the window with the bouquet. On the layers palette, select the layer on which you inserted the bouquet - "Layer 1" (if you deleted the "Background" layer, it will be there alone). Then click on the colors and, without releasing the mouse button, drag them onto the image with the vase.

Due to the fact that the images have different resolutions, the following happened.

Let's reduce the size of the bouquet. On the layers palette, select the layer with the bouquet, in the example it is "Layer 3", your name may be different. Now press the key combination "Ctrl + T". A frame with markers should appear around the image. If you cannot see it completely, in the lower left corner select the appropriate scale for the image. Resize by clicking on the markers. To maintain the aspect ratio of the image while resizing, press and hold the Shift key. When you find the right size, press "Enter".

Place the beautifully cut object on a new background. Select a suitable scale and using the Move Tool, move the bouquet over the background image.

I will end on this. I think now you can cut the desired object from the photo and paste this object onto another image in Photoshop.

If necessary, zoom in on the image using the "Navigator" palette and the corresponding slider. Finish painting. If you think that you accidentally drove over the edges, then activate the "Eraser" and work like them Then turn off the "Quick Mask" tool. Pay attention to the baby shown in the photo - the outline has become dashed, in other words, it is highlighted. Next, turn to the toolbar again and activate one of the selection tools. Now move the mouse over the photo and click on In the window that opens, select the command “Cut to New Layer.” Move your gaze to the “Layers Palette.” The silhouette of the child has moved to a new layer. Consider today a simple option for replacing the background in any photo / picture using Photoshop. As you know, the background is always the main part of the image.

This will take quite a bit of practice, you just need to cut the desired object from one and paste it into another, and the image is really practically new,. Of course, you can do this without Photoshop - online using free services, for example Clippingmagic... This service is very convenient, it's easy to deal with the settings - cut out the object and replace the background with any color or make the background transparent \u003d\u003e Download. My task today is to show you how to do this using Photoshop.

To replace the background

  • 1. Press / activate the layer thumbnail tab and open the image that we need for the background (new background) - Open. Alternatively, if it is not possible to download the appropriate background from the Internet, make a new background in Photoshop yourself, for example, using the Fill and Gradient tools.
  • 2. Using the move tool (the left panel of the desktop menu), move the cut fragment to a new background. This can be done by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the selected fragment. Thus, we can move any cut objects to a new background and get more and more new images.

  • 3. How to blur the background.
If you want to change the new background, for example, blur or improve, then first click in the right menu on "Background", then to the top (main) tab "Filter" and select the required item from the drop-down menu. I chose motion blur, you can use Gaussian. Now all that remains is to save the modified image. Best regards, all the best to you.

Hello reader! Photoshop is a unique program and allows you to make wonderful masterpieces, even if you are not very good at graphics. What can be done in this program that will always attract the viewer is various collages. Today we will look at some techniques for creating materials for your future work.

A collage can be as simple as a set of photographs (or pictures) against a chosen background. For example like this:

And your collage can be quite complex, consisting of parts of photographs, drawings, objects, which, as a result, turn into a whole work of art. Like how you painted the picture:

This is where Photoshop is a unique program. You may not be an artist, but create paintings that only brush masters can do. In this article we will talk about such a preparatory part of a collage, such as cutting out objects. You cannot do without this. Typically, an object is cut along a path. There are a lot of different methods, but depending on whether the object is located on a solid background or on a complex one, different ones are used.

Cut out the object and paste it into another background

The most common action that is most often used is to cut an object from one picture and paste it into another, (or onto a different background). In order to cut an object, you must first select it. Selection can be done in several ways. On the side, on the toolbar, find the Lasso icon and just below the Magic Wand icon.

The lasso has three modifications: simple, straight and magnetic. They differ in the degree of selection. When selected, the magnetic lasso sticks to the outline of the selected object. It is very convenient, but the contours must be clear, otherwise the lasso line can go to another contour.

A regular lasso and a straight line do not stick, and therefore they must be carefully drawn along the contour, bending around all the irregularities. The straight line is called that, which gives only straight lines. If you are tracing rounded ones, use a regular lasso.

The Magic Wand is a tool that allows you to do a tedious operation with one click. There are two tools here - "Flash Selection" and "Magic Wand".

Quick selection - we will see a plus sign in a circle on the cursor. With the help of it, we draw over the object and get a line that outlines the object as in the case of a magnetic lasso. Here, the line can also go beyond the boundaries of the object if it is on a non-uniform background.

This is corrected as follows. If the selection outline has left the selected line, press the key Alt or, on the toolbar, the brush button with a minus sign. This technique is called "Subtracting from a selection".

If pressed Alt, then while holding the key, draw a circle of the cursor, in which it is no longer a plus, but a minus along the gone contour line. This line fits the desired contour.

Thus, we outline the object. This selection method, unlike lasso, is well suited for a drawing located on a non-uniform background. Any selection method will work against a uniform background. Although from experience I will say that it is more convenient for me to select with the Quick Selection tool, regardless of whether the object is on a uniform background or not. Proceed as you like.

Here, as an example, I took an object against a uniform background and selected it using quick selection. This is done with such a tool literally in seconds.

Now it remains to copy the selected element - (Editing-Copy) and by going to the selected background, paste the copied object through Edit-Paste.

If the inserted object is larger than the background, then it must be scaled. Choose from the top menu Editing-Transforming-Scaling.

Holding down the Shift key so that the size changes proportionally with the mouse, drag the corners of the picture to fit it to the desired size. Basically, it all depends on the background and how the inserted object will look on it.

How to cut an object in Photoshop without a background, along a contour

In this version of cutting out an object without a background, consider a picture with a complex background, that is, not a uniform background, but for example this:

Here you can also use the Lasso tools, but then you will have to cut it long and carefully. The best way is the quick selection, as discussed earlier. You, of course, experiment with all the methods and then choose the most convenient for yourself. So, load the desired photo into the program.

Duplicate the layer so that it would be convenient to work. Select the layer - make it active. At the next stage, select the quick selection tool and draw a circle around the drawing with it. As described earlier when working with this tool using the key Alt, straighten the contour line so that it fits the object well.

Get ready for the fact that the line will constantly go away from the selected object and you need to return it. But with practice, you can do it quickly.

The next step is to add a layer mask to this layer. First, turn off the bottom layer - make it invisible. As a result, we get such a cut image.

If you move the "Feather" slider, you will see how the edges of the picture change. You can edit the edges by simply feathering, or you can make it a little more precise by clicking on the Refine-Mask Edge button. A window will open in which, by changing the parameters, you can get the blur of the edge of the picture, so that it is not very sharp.

After completing such manipulations, click OK and get the finished object without a background. Next, save the picture in * .png format. As a result, it will be on a transparent background and can be pasted anywhere. Now load the saved image, select it, copy and paste it into the background. She will stand up already without her background.

That's the whole procedure. For clarity, let's see the process in the video:

Cut out the object and transfer it to another Photoshop layer

Moving a cut object to another layer is the same as cutting an object and copying it to another background. As soon as you insert a cut object on a new background, the program automatically creates its own layer for it. You can first create an empty layer, select it - thereby activating it, and then insert the cut object onto it.

How to cut out a person's face and insert another instead of it?

Cutting out a face and pasting it into another person's face is a very popular collage that can often be found on the Internet. Especially they like to do such things as a gift to someone.

In general, everything is done here in the same way as described above. We will consider one of the options. We find the template where we want to insert the desired face and, of course, the face itself. Let's take an actor like Nicolas Cage as an example. Use a magic wand to select the face. Create a new layer and copy the selected face there.

If we turn off the main layer, we will see only one actor's face we copied.

Now open the template where we want to paste the copied face. There are many such templates on the Internet, just choose the right one. Create a duplicate layer.

Now go back to the layer with the face prepared for insertion, copy it, open the template and paste the face into the template.

The face layer is smaller than the template. With the help of the command Edit-Transform-Scale we resize, adjusting it to the template to fit as accurately as possible. We erase where necessary. In the same branch there is a "Turn", we can turn the face so that it looks more natural.

The face layer lies above the template layer. The face will therefore be on top of the template. Move it down below the template to make the face look more accurate. By adjusting the color balance, adjusting, you can get something like this.

The video below shows you how to cut and paste a face.

Crop the person from the photo and paste it on another Photoshop background

The procedure for cutting out a human figure is similar to the previous one. We take some background and the person we need. First, cut out the shape in any convenient way and copy it to a new layer.

Naturally, we adjust the inserted image in scale and color balance, no matter what the picture or the background is knocked out. That's all, good luck!
