There is no sound on windows 7 what to do. Driver problems. Windows Audio System Service

Good day, dear readers Denis Trishkin in touch.

One of the main reasons why the computer does not produce any sounds is the incorrect connection of the speakers. At first glance, this seems ridiculous, but believe me, this happens to everyone, even the most experienced users.

Disabled in the system( )

Another simple option, and at the same time commonplace, may be a general shutdown, which is set in the setup program. Just click on the corresponding tray icon and enable it. If there is no icon, go to " Control Panel"And then to" ". There you will find all the necessary items.

No driver( )

To fix the situation, we do a few simple movements:

If this does not help, you must go to the manufacturer's official website yourself motherboard and download the required distribution. How to set up next?

It's simple:

Everything should work. If not, then move on.

Full reinstall system files allows you to completely update all connections between hardware and software. It turns out that this procedure makes it possible to do everything as it was originally. Many people want to know how to reset sound settings? The answer is simple - install new drivers and your problem will be solved.

Service not running( )

In some circumstances, it happens that the corresponding service is simply not started. To restore sound balance, you need to enable the required command.

For this:

Via BIOS( )

Rarely, but still you can find a situation when the corresponding component of the motherboard needs to be included in the BIOS. Again, it is worth emphasizing that this can be observed on computers and laptops, inside which are already very outdated parts.

To solve the problem, you must:

If that doesn't work either, you probably have a hardware problem. It is necessary to make a diagnosis. Usually it is carried out in specialized centers.

Microphone sound( )

Sometimes there are situations when it is necessary to adjust the sound of the microphone. This is usually needed in games, when using web-based conversation tools, or for dubbing various video files. Regardless of the goals, we perform the same actions:

Front panel audio( )

Many PC users often saw connectors for connecting devices for recording and playing audio on the front of their system unit. Often, after connecting the appropriate equipment, nothing happens. This is because the ports need to be connected first. So how does the front panel setup work?

First you need to open the system unit and check if the outputs are connected to the motherboard.

On some motherboards, the BIOS menu is different from others, and the item we need sounds like “ Onboard Device Configuration". Here it is necessary to check the item "". It must have the status " Enabled". If not, we assign the desired one.

We find in the tray the audio manager responsible for our playback device. We launch it. Now you need to select the item in the menu that is responsible for the front panel.

Now everything should definitely work.

HDMI Sound( )

Recently, computer users have been trying to redirect video playback to their TVs. But besides the picture, it would also be nice to hear the corresponding audio. This is done by setting up HDMI audio.

By and large, not much needs to be done:

Everything should now work as intended.

Sometimes in the "Playback Devices" window on an empty space you need to click right click and put a tick in front of both proposed items: " Disabled"And" ".

Well, from the article you can see that the problems with sound can be very different. I tried to describe all the possible ones that I have ever met. If you've seen more, be sure to describe them in the comments.

I hope the information above helps you. Subscribe and share with your friends.

The reasons for the lack of sound in Windows 7 are sometimes simple, and it is not uncommon to find a problem for a long time. Very often, when asking a question, users give incomplete information about the problem, for example, they do not say that they tried to update the day before sound driver or tried to connect other speakers to your computer or made changes to the Sound tab settings in Control Panel.

Or maybe you installed some plug-in on your laptop to improve the sound quality of the players installed in your system and after that you have lost sound on Windows 7.

But no matter what happens to you friends, do not despair, there is a solution to your problem and, as usual, we will start with the simplest.

 • Note: at the end of the article, as an option, there is a way to work with a little-known novice user -> Universal Diagnostic Tool for Windows 7, which can also automatically find and fix various problems related not only to the lack of sound.

Even very experienced users have situations when, for some reason, they disconnected the speakers from the system unit and then forgot about it. Check if everything is securely connected. The speaker output is marked in green.

You can check the soundness of the speakers by connecting headphones to the sound output, if there is sound, then the speakers are faulty. Also, if there is no sound in Windows 7, you need to go to the device manager and pay attention to whether you have an exclamation mark in a yellow circle opposite the Sound devices item. Start-> Control Panel-> click right mouse on "Computer" and select Properties from the menu, then Device Manager. If the yellow circle is present, it means that the sound driver just flew off and you need to reinstall it.

 • Note: In order not to puzzle yourself over which of the two hundred programs and games you installed yesterday led to problems with sound, you can use a simple System recovery , fortunately in Windows 7, it is usually enabled for everyone and roll back with recovery points a little back.

Just yesterday, my friends asked me to fix the problem of no sound on their computer. The day before, they downloaded two multimedia players on the Internet and installed for some reason, after which they lost sound. First of all, I looked at the speaker volume indicator in the Taskbar to see if it was turned down completely, everything turned out to be fine.

I also clicked on the Speakers button with the right mouse and selected Playback Devices from the menu,

there was a green checkmark on the Speakers item as it should be.

Strange, but there was also a working sound device in the device manager.

Everything indicated that everything was fine with the sound. I brought headphones with me and connected them to the audio output located on the back of the system unit and made sure that there is actually no sound, which means that the speakers are also working properly.
First of all, in this case, the sound device driver may be damaged or not working correctly, which means you need to go to the device manager and try to update the driver, which will not always help, in which case you need to completely remove everything sound devices from the system.

After the performed operation in the operating system, my friends got a sound. By the way, in this case, you can also use System Restore.
Another time there was a different problem, the person installed on his windows computer 7, everything would be fine, but there was no sound, there was eloquent information in the device manager.

In such cases, you need a disk with drivers for the motherboard, which was attached to your computer upon purchase, on this disk you need to see if the drivers on it are suitable for Windows 7. If the drivers on the disk are intended for Windows XP, of course, you should not install them, you need go online and download native drivers for your sound card on its official website.

How to do this with us in detail and step by step is written in the article How to find and install a driver on a device correctly ... Often not only the search for drivers, but also the correct determination of the device name is a problem for a novice user, so I still advise you to follow our link and read the article. If, nevertheless, you do not find a driver for Windows 7, but you have an installation package of drivers for Windows XP, you can try to install it in the Compatibility troubleshooting mode, but I tell you friends, this is not quite the best option.

Sometimes the reason can be so simple that users cannot even think about it. But it's worth starting with the obvious, so try this first:

 • Restart your computer. It is quite possible that some of the components of the operating system simply did not load up due to its "age" or load by other processes. This can be done by clicking the button on system unit or by pressing the "Restart" button in the "Start" menu.

 • Check your speakers whether any wires have come off, whether the switches are off, and in general, whether there are any other defects and damage. It is possible that you will need to disconnect all wires from the speakers and reconnect it all. See if the LED is on, which indicates the health of the speakers, if any.
 • Click the "Volume" icon (it is marked in figure 2). There you need to check if the sound is muted. A red circle means that the sound is muted for some reason. In this case, you just need to raise the volume slider up or even just click on the red circle itself. Then the system will automatically turn on the sound.

These are the simplest solutions to the problem with not working sound. All of these should be tried first. And only then apply all the methods described below.

Important! Make sure your speakers or headphones are working - check them on other devices before looking for a breakdown in your computer.

The problem is in the drivers

One of the most common causes of a problem with not working sound on a computer is driver failures. It is very easy to check if this is so in your case. To do this, you need to do the following:

 • Open the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel", as shown in Figure 3.

 • In the search bar (in Figure 4 highlighted in green), write "Device Manager". After that, you need to open the device manager, which is located in the "System" section.
 • Try to play different files. Perhaps, there is no sound only when playing a certain type of files. In this case, most likely, there is a problem with the codecs. How to solve it will be described below.

Important! You need to open the device manager in exactly the same way as described above. As you can see, there are a large number of dispatchers in Windows 7 and they all look the same, but the functions in some of them may differ, albeit not much.

After that, in the opened window of the "Device Manager" we need, we need to see if there are any exclamation marks in the list. We are especially interested in the section entitled "Sound, video and game devices". Exclamation marks indicate that the drivers are too outdated, work incorrectly, or, in a simpler way, "flew", that is, disappeared from the system due to its failure.

Even if there are no exclamation marks, it would still be useful to update the drivers. It is quite possible that some of them started to work incorrectly, just the system “does not know anything about it” yet.

Driver update process

First of all, you need to update the drivers for those devices in the "Sound, video and game devices" section, the name of which contains the words "Audio" or Audio. However, updating drivers for all other devices does not hurt either. The update process looks like this:

 • Right-click on a specific device and select "Update drivers ..." in the drop-down list of options.

Figure: No. 5. The item "Update drivers ..." in the drop-down list when clicking on the audio device

 • In the window that opens, select the item "Automatic search for updated drivers". Then the system will start searching for new driver versions on the Internet, including on the developer's website previous versions... it the best option in terms of ease of use.

After the end of the search, a list of available driver update options will appear in the same window. You should click on one of them and continue the installation by clicking the "Next" button. Perhaps there will be a message stating that this device does not need to update drivers - then nothing needs to be done.

If the drivers require updating, but the auto search on the Internet did not find suitable ones, you need to go to the developer's website, find there latest driver for the desired device, download and install manually. To do this, select the second option in the window shown in Figure 6.

Codec problem

There is one easy way to determine if your computer has a codec problem. It consists in playing different files and checking whether all types of files are played or only some. But this problem can manifest itself in another way - completely mute the sound on the computer. To install the full set of codecs, it is best to use the option that the KM Player development team offers. It is called K-Lite Codec Pack and this is a complete set of codecs required for normal computer operation. Interestingly, installing codecs is not as easy a process as it might seem at first glance. Errors can occur already at the download stage. Therefore, below will be described the process of downloading and installing the K-Lite Codec Pack. It looks like this:

 • Codecs should only be downloaded from the official K-Lite website, other sources may contain malware.

 • In the "Mega" section, find the Download Mega button. Only this package contains a complete set of codecs. When installing other packages, some may not be enough.

 • On the next page there will be two links for downloading the K-Lite Codec Pack - Mirror 1 and Mirror 2. Users often write at technical forums that the second link is better for Russia and other countries of the former USSR. After downloading, you should run the file to start installing the codec pack.

Important! If you already have an old codec pack installed on your computer, at this stage a pop-up window will appear on the screen - the system will offer to remove it. Agree, you have already downloaded new version.

 • Next, the installation window will open. There will be installation options, among which you need to select Advanced, as shown in Figure 9, and click the "Next>" button at the bottom of the page.

 • In the next window, you should also click the Next> button, and after that a window will appear in which you can already select the installation components, that is, codecs. It is best to choose Profile 9, which contains the most of them. When finished, click Next> again.

 • In the next few pop-ups, you just need to click Next>, we are not particularly interested in them. This should be done until the file extension selection window appears, shown in Figure 11. We recommend that you select Select all video and Select all audio so that any audio and video files can be opened by the KM Player media player.

 • Now we press "Next>" several times again and wait for the end of the installation, which will be indicated by the "Finish" button.

The above solutions for a sound problem can help resolve several of the most common causes of problems. In the video below, you can see several more options for solving the problem.

Hello, friends!!! I haven't written for a long time, there was no time. In this short article I want to tell you how to fix a small but unpleasant situation when no sound on windows 7... There is a lot of material on the topic when sound does not work in windows 7 and I think it makes no sense to repeat myself, I will describe my method that helped me a lot, or rather the program that helped me and I think it will help many. The only thing, let's consider a few at the very beginning of the article. simple options due to which there may be lost sound on windows 7.

The article provides answers to questions:

 1. No sound on windows 7 - Option number 1
 2. No sound on windows 7 - Option number 2
 3. Missing sound on Windows 7 - fix it with DRiverMan Overall XP-VISTA-WIN7
 4. Missing sound on the computer - Video tutorial.

Option number 1:

First, if there is no sound on windows 7, check and update the drivers for sound card... Go to the "Control Panel", then "Device Manager", find the "Sound, video and game devices" tab and double-click on it with the left mouse button. A drop-down tab will appear, click right key mouse and select "Update drivers".

A window will appear in which select the item "Automatic search for updated drivers", the system itself will search and, if necessary, update the driver for sound. If the system cannot find and install sound drivers, then you need to download the windows 7 sound driver from the office yourself. site of the motherboard manufacturer, I think you will not have any problems with this. After you download the drivers for the sound card, save the file and remember where it was saved. Next, select the item "Search for drivers on this computer."

In the window that appears, click on the "Browse" button and specify the path where your downloaded file with drivers is saved and click "Next".

Firewood on windows sound 7 will install and the problem should be resolved. If all the same after all the actions, no sound on windows 7, then we will consider another way.

Option number 2:

Go to the "Start" menu and in the search bar write the word "Services". A window will appear in which you need to find the line “ Windows Audio».

Click on it twice with LMB and see if you have disabled this service, if disabled, then click on the "Run" button and in the "Startup type" item set the value "Automatic", as shown on, click "Apply" and "OK". If these actions do not help, then we apply the third option.

Sound disappeared on the computer - fix it using the DRiverMan Overall XP-VISTA-WIN7 program

Now I want to tell you what kind of miracle helped me and many others windows user 7. In 2009, when operating system windows 7 was available for download and everyone could download and install it, there was a small wave with the problem that after installation Windows 7 sound not working I, like many, also faced this problem. I want to tell you honestly that I just didn’t do it, everything was fine on all the points written above, but there was still no sound and there were no answers in the internet, because the system is new and no one really figured it out before us) )).

I was already desperate and wanted to install windows XP back, but then I came across one program that helped me, the program is unattractive, but after its work I just jumped for joy))). I will not torment you, the program is called DRiverMan Overall XP-VISTA-WIN7 it weighs more than a gig and is downloaded in iSO image, but most importantly, it opens on the desktop without installation, that is, you do not need to install the program: opened, updated, installed, closed, I think that it is very convenient.
