How to enter your email address. E-mail E-mail.

Each new user One day the Internet begins to puzzle for a long time, coming up with the name of its future e-mail.

When creating a mailbox for the first time, all concentration, apparently, goes to the username and password, so few people think about the quality of the service itself.

Of course, some users pay attention to an easy to remember and sonorous domain name. When choosing a postal service, you can primarily focus on

  • service stability,
  • methods of fighting spammers,
  • convenience of the interface,
  • the presence of additional features that are provided by one or another mail.

Below we will consider the common free email services, and the choice is yours.

The volume of 10 GB of the mailbox is pleasant, it can still be expanded as letters accumulate. A good fight against spammers, but sometimes spam breaks through, probably, thanks to the popularity of the mail service on the Runet.

There are also many pleasant and convenient additional services, for example "", which allow you to transfer through cloud storage files among their devices and send files to other people as needed.

Figure: 1 How, if you have mail in Mail.ru, find all its possibilities

If you have mail Mile ru, then in order to see all its capabilities (all projects, all services), you should:

  • 1 in fig. 1 - go to your Mail.Ru mail,
  • 2 in Fig. 1 - click on the "All projects" button.

The formatting of the text in the letter is great. However, for a change, it is sometimes better to send rather than a letter straight from your mail.

It is possible to create a folder with an additional password. You can create.

The service Answers Mail.Ru is known.

Those who have their own website will find it useful to know about such services as Mail.Ru Rating and Webmaster's Cabinet. To access them, you must have mail at Mail.Ru.

In my opinion, a convenient and reliable postal service. I like it for its safety and capacity, functionality and convenience. See for yourself. In addition to reliable mail with good anti-spam filters, there are many additional handy tricks.

This is the collection of mail from other mailboxes of different services, the ability to bind a phone number to mail and receive a mailbox with your phone number like 79991234567 @ ya.ru.

There are Photos, Videos, Internet Meter as well.

There is a browser - Yandex Browser, which runs on the same engine as Google chrome, but has some differences, but what about without them?

Yandex mail domains: yandex and ya

Yandex.Mail has a short domain - this is what appears in the mail name (that is, in the login) immediately after the "dog" symbol: @. The following example names for mail

  • Nadezda @ mail.ru,
  • Nadezda @ gmial.com,
  • Nadezda @ yandex.ru

differences in logins are only in mail domains: mail.ru, gmail.com, yandex.ru. And these, of course, are already different mails, with different services.

As for the domain of Yandex mail, it doesn't matter if you send a letter to @ yandex.ru or @ ya.ru, it will still come to one addressee.

Each owner of Yandex.Mail has the opportunity to use it for storing, transferring and sending files.

Of course, if the file is not very large, then you can just add it to the letter.

If the letters contain actual addresses, they become active links and when you click on them, Yandex.Map opens.

P.P.S.To subscribe to receive new articleswhich are not yet on the blog:
1) Enter your e-mail address in this form.

For people who are just starting to study the Internet and all its possibilities, it is not easy at first. Sooner or later, a new Internet user is set to create his own mail to receive emails and learn how to log into it to check incoming messages. And it is quite difficult for beginners to do this. Everyone can learn how to enter their mail, you just need to carefully do it the first time and soon you will be doing it automatically.

How to log into your email

  1. So, in order to open your mail, you need to take a few steps. First you need to open your browser and go to the mail page. If, when registering your mail and first entering your data, you ticked the "Remember me" phrase, then in the window that appears, all the fields will be filled in and you will only have to click on the "Login" button.
  2. You can also open your mail from the main page of the Yandex search engine. To do this, click on the mail button in the upper right corner. In the window that appears, you will see two columns that need to be filled in: login and password. If they are empty, then you need to enter your data there and click the "Login" button. If they are already filled in, it means that you previously left your consent for your browser to remember your data, in this case you do not need to enter anything and just click on the "Login" button. Be sure to remember your data from your mail (login and password), or even better write them down in your notebook.
  3. If you use the Mozila Firefox browser, and having opened the mail accidentally in the same tab, you opened another site or request, then you can easily go back to your mail. To do this, at the top of the screen, on the right, you need to left-click on the icon with the name of your mailbox, and you will again find yourself on the page of your mail.
  4. In order to go to another mail, for example, Mail.ru, you must perform the same actions that were described above. Namely: you need to write Mail.ru in the search engine and in the window that appears, fill in your data (login and password) and click on the "Login" icon.
  5. You can also easily go to Yahoo mail. To do this, open this resource and in the window that appears, you must enter your username and password. In the field "Yahoo! ID ”, enter the name of your mail in the format“ [email protected] ”, in the“ Password ”field, enter your password, then click on the“ Sign in ”icon. In order not to enter all your data next time and just click on the "Sign in" icon, you must put a tick in the "Keep me signed in" box.

In this section, we will explain how to create email accounts (users), how to set the address for collecting all mail, mail forwarding settings, mail robots, absent messages, mailing lists, filters, and altering MX records.

Creating email accounts

To create an e-mail account, log into the control panel and click the "E-Mail Menu" link, then follow the "POP3 E-Mail Accounts" link ... You will see that one email account already exists: [email protected] (where "username" is your login to the control panel). This account is permanent and cannot be deleted.

Important: A persistent mail account is used to receive errors from the server (for example, messages coming from scripts that run periodically (cron jobs)). For security reasons, it is not recommended to use this mailbox for everyday correspondence, as this account the same password is used as in the control panel and, in some cases, can be easily obtained by hackers. Use a different email account to receive system messages. To do this, create new account e-mail (see how to create it below), or use an existing e-mail address. To redirect all messages from a permanent email account [email protected] (where "username" is your login to the control panel) to a different address, create a file named .forward containing the required e-mail address and upload this file to the root directory of your account (where the domains, tmp, mail, etc. folders are located). etc.). How to download a file, see the section or section.

To create a new POP3 mail account click on "Create POP3 Mail Account." and you will see the following window:

Enter the username (username) and password (password). Then click "Create." ("Create"). The control panel will display approximately the following picture:

Comment: You cannot create a POP3 account if the username is already in use in bots, forwarding, or mailing lists.

Changing the password of an email account

To change the password for an email account, first enter the "POP3 E-Mail Accounts" menu. Then, click on the "change" link located opposite the required email address.

After the "Modify POP3 Mail Account" window appears, enter the new password (the password must be entered twice to avoid typing errors) and click "Update."

Cleaning mail accounts

To clear your mail account, first go to the "POP3 E-Mail Accounts" menu. Then check the box next to the account (s) you want to clear, select the "Inbox" cleaning location and click "Empty".

Deleting mail accounts

To delete a mail account, first enter the "POP3 E-Mail Accounts" menu. Then check the box next to the account (s) you want to delete and click "Delete".

SMTP authentication

When you set up a POP3 account in your mail program, you must also set up SMTP authentication ( if have chosen a hosting provider account for sending mail (although you can also use the mail server of your internet provider).

For SMTP authentication, the username (login name) / password (password) is the same as the POP3 account username (login name) / password (password).

This can be done with most email clients. For example, in MS Outlook: select the menu Tools, Accounts (Service - Accounts):

Select an account and click Properties (Properties).

Then, in the tab Servers (Servers), check the box "My ser ver requires authentication. "(User authentication)

If you use this account to receive mail via POP3 on this server, you can select the option "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"

Otherwise, select the "Log on using" option

For more information on setting up a mail account in your mail program, see the user manual.

Set the address for receiving all mail (Catch-All Address)

When the server receives mail with an address that does not exist, it can do certain things with it. The control panel gives us three options:

1. The server deletes the letter and informs the sender that the given address does not exist.

2. The server deletes the message without notifying the sender about it.

3. The server sends the letter to your specified mailbox.

To select one of these options, first go to the "E-Mail Menu" from the control panel. Then click the "Catch-All E-Mail" icon. You will see a window similar to this:

Select the required settings and click "Update." ("Refresh")

Forwarders

Forwarding allows you to forward incoming mail to a different address. For example, you want mail to be sent to [email protected] and [email protected] got into the POP3 mail account [email protected]

In this case, you must create two redirects to achieve the desired result.

Note: You cannot create a forwarding if the specified name is already in use in mail robots or mailing lists.

If a forwarding is created with the name of an existing POP account, then the incoming email gets into the POP3 account and copies are sent according to the created forwarding rule.

Please check the current settings with your hosting provider, as the system may behave differently when creating a forwarding rule to an existing POP3 account, for example, the forwarding rule will work, but the correspondence will not get into the existing POP3 account.

To create a forwarding go to the "E-Mail Menu" from the control panel. Then click on the "Forwarders" icon and after that click on the "Create New Forwarder" link at the top of the page. You will see a window like this:

Enter a name for forwarding, address where to forward mail, and click on the "Create" button.

Note: You can forward mail to several addresses by writing them separated by commas (without spaces), for example: [email protected],[email protected],[email protected]

Change / remove redirects

All redirects are displayed in the list of the redirects menu. To delete the readdressing, check the box next to the required names and click the "Delete Selected" button.

The forwarding can be edited by clicking the "modify" link next to the required forwarding. But in this case, you can only change the email address where the forwarding will be made, and not the name of the forwarding itself.

Mail robot (Autoresponder)

A mail robot is an electronic robot that automatically replies to all incoming letters with a standard email. The mail robot answers all letters regardless of their content. For example, some companies keep their fresh price list in mail robots. Potential users should send any email, for example, to [email protected] and at the same time they will receive a company price list in their mailbox.

To create a mail robot, first enter the "E-Mail Menu" from the control panel. Then click on the "Autoresponders" icon and follow the link "Create New Autoresponder"

First, choose a name for the mail robot.

Note: You cannot select a mailbot name if it is already in use in a POP3 mail account, forwarding, or mailing lists.

Second, enter your reply message in the text box. You can use HTML language. Just keep in mind that not all email editors accept emails with HTML code.

Third, you can also add a CC address. In this case, when the robot sends a letter, a copy will also be sent to the specified address. Using this feature can help, for example, keep track of the number of messages sent by the mail robot.

Modifying / Removing mail robots (autoresponders)

All mail robots are displayed in a list in the automatic responders menu. To delete the mail robot, check the box next to the required name and click the "Delete Selected" button.

To change the parameters of the mail robot, click on the "modify" link in the line with the required name. You will be given the option to change the auto reply message and CC: address. After editing, click on the "Create" button.

Answering machine

Answering machine messages will tell others that you will be absent in the near future. Such messages may sound like this: "I have accepted your letter, but I will be absent until June 21, and I will definitely give an answer later." Voicemail messages are used in conjunction with an existing POP3 account.

To create such a message, go to the "E-Mail Menu" from the control panel. Then click the "Vacation Messages icon," and follow the link "Set New Vacation Message".

First, select the POP3 account where you want to add the answering machine message. Second, enter your message text. Third, choose a date when the message will start sending and when it will stop. Fourth, click on the "Create" button.

Changing / Removing Autoresponders (Vacation Messages)

All autoresponders can be seen in the list found in the autoresponders menu. To delete an autoresponder, check the box next to the required autoresponder account and click "Delete Selected." ("Remove Selected")

The autoresponder message can be modified by clicking on the "modify" link found on the line of the autoresponder account you want to edit. You can change the message text, the start time of the answering machine, and the time that the answering machine stops working.

To create a mailing list, first enter the "E-Mail Menu" from the control panel. Then click on the "Mailing Lists" icon. Initially this list is empty, so click on "Create Mailing List." ("Creating a mailing list")

Note: You cannot create a mailing list with a name that already exists in POP3 accounts, email bots, or redirects.

Subscription / removal from mailing lists via email

The server uses software popular Majordomo mailing lists. Traditionally, mailing lists have been operated and configured exclusively through e-mail. There are two ways to subscribe to the mailing list:

1. Send an email to the address [email protected] with the word "subscribe listname" (without quotes) in the letter.

2. Send an email to the address [email protected] with the word "subscribe" (without quotes) in the letter.

Each mailing list is also available in digest form (???). It works as follows: it collects all letters for some period of time (for example, a week) and sends them out once in a large message. This is useful on large mailing lists when recipients are literally flooded with a large stream of daily emails. To subscribe to the digest version (???) of a mailing list, follow the already described subscription procedure, except for some points:

1. select "subscribe listname-digest" rather than "subscribe listname."

2. dial [email protected] instead [email protected]

The steps to unsubscribe are very similar to subscribing, except for the content of the email: replace the word "subscribe" with the word "unsubscribe" in the email itself. Majordomo will send you an email with the subscription / unsubscribe results. In addition, you can view the list of subscribers in the control panel.

Subscription / removal from mailing lists via control panel

You can add or remove subscribers yourself through the control panel. Please note that in this case, users will not receive confirmation emails from the Majordomo system when they are added to the list in this way. In this case, they will not know about their existence in the lists until someone sends a letter to the mailing list or you inform him about it additionally.

First, find the mailing list that you want to change. All mailing lists are displayed in the mailing lists menu. Click the "view" link next to the name of the mailing list you will be working with. You will see a window like this:

When adding a subscriber, check the box "Add to listname" or "Add to listname-digest" and then click the "Submit" button. Deleting from the mailing list is done by checking the box opposite the address (s) of the subscriber (s) you want to delete, and then clicking on the "Delete Selected" button. The link list shows all subscribers regardless of how they were subscribed (via email or through the control panel).

The control panel provides a graphical interface for configuring Majordomo configuration. To configure the parameters of a mailing list, enter the main menu of mailing lists and click the "view" link next to the mailing list you want to edit. At the top of the page you will see another link: "To change list and digest settings, click here. "This link will take you to the configuration menu.

The configuration menu allows you to change the following settings:

Digest Settings

Maximum message length

Moderators

Much more ...

The configuration menu is best used when you thoroughly study Majordomo. We advise you to visit Majordomo home page for more information.

Filters

Filters allow you to block certain types of incoming email. General filters; that is, you will not be able to filter for a specific email account. To create a filter, enter the "E-Mail Menu" from the main menu of the control panel. Then click the "Filters" icon.

The first option allows you to block all email from the specified email address. Enter the required address in this field and press the "Block."

Second option: block email from the entire domain. Enter the domain name (without "www") and click the "Block."

You can block all emails that contain the words you specified. Type in the word you need and click "Block." This option checks the subject and body of the email.

You can also set maximum size, in kilobytes, of the incoming letter: enter the required number (1024 kilobytes \u003d 1 megabyte) and click the "Block."

Additionally, you can enable the "adult" filter by clicking on the "Enable" button. This filter blocks most of the offensive phrases, words, and addresses.

Removing filters

All filters can be seen in the filters menu. It looks something like this:

In this example, we no longer want to block emails from the badsite.com domain. Check the box next to the filter (s) you want to delete and click the "Delete Selected" button.

MX records

Let's start looking at MX (Mail eXchanger) records. Free email services such as everyone.net require MX records to be made in order for their software to work. These changes will direct all incoming mail for your domain to another mail server. However, do not forget that with a change in the MX record, mail will stop arriving in your server mailboxes, redirects, autoresponders, and mailing lists will stop working.

To change the MX record, first enter the E-Mail Menu from the main control panel menu. Then click the "MX Records" icon.

First, remove old entry MX by checking the box next to the record name and clicking the "Delete Selected." After performing this operation, the list of records should be empty.

Then, enter the new hostname ending with a period given to you by your email provider. Then choose a priority (usually 10) from the drop-down menu. The priority level must also be issued by your email provider. Click "Add."

Attention:Be sure to put a period at the end of the hostname.

To restore the original MX record settings, enter vashdomain.ru. with priority 0 after deleting all other entries.

Web mail

To access the webmail interface, click the "E-Mail Menu" link in the main control panel menu, then click the "Webmail" icon.

First, enter your full e-mail address in the "E-mail" field. Then, your password, and click the "Login \u003e\u003e" button.

Attention:

To log in with your main e-mail address, created when you set up your control panel account ([email protected]), do not add @ vashdomain.ru to your web mail login login. For example, if you enter the control panel with the name (login) "gary", then you must enter the web mail with the login "gary" (without quotes). For all other additional email accounts, you must enter the full email address [email protected].

Updated: 28 July 2017

Hello dear readers of the blog site. E-mail for me is the main source of communication with " outside world". Neither, nor any other instant messengers that allow communication in real time, I do not accept.

It's hard to say why. It is possible that they are a great distraction with the need to answer, while the message that came to Email may well wait, because the respondent who sent it does not really expect a quick response.

But in addition to direct communication, a lot of all kinds are always tied to an e-mail box - from social networks to payment systems. Often the inability to enter your once created and forgotten mail it may cost you a lot of nerves when restoring access to any service. Therefore, I suggest from all be careful when choosing a free mailbox and the ability to restore access to it.

Also an important aspect that can affect your choice is the correspondence that comes to your Email. For example, an attacker, having gained access to your mailbox, can (or something that compromises you). Moreover, they break mail almost always on the machine (indiscriminately), so everyone, without exception, is at risk.

And, of course, tedious spam, which is pouring into your "soap" in an increasing stream, and in the absence of a sane spam cutter on the service, can turn working with correspondence into torture. Therefore, I will try to conduct an express analysis of the most popular e-mail systems in runet (free, of course) and at the end I will invite you to vote for the service that you consider the most successful solution. Together, I think, we will get the "average temperature in the hospital", which may be radically different from my personal judgment. Hope it will be interesting.

Email mail - selection criteria, nuances of registration and login

In runet, to designate e-mail, they often use words such as "electronic", "soap" (from mail) or: E-mail or E-mail (although it would be more correct - E-mail). Personally, I use either "mail" or "soap" in everyday life, although this does not change the essence.

I don't think it's worth saying, but this term, curiously, has a lot of alternative options. For example, in the bourgeois it is customary to denote it with the word Email (although, until recently, they wrote E-mail, but now the rules have changed and the one where the hyphen is not put is the right option).

By itself, the technology of transmitting emails directly between the sender and the addressee originated as far back as 1965, and, perhaps, that it is even older than the Internet itself (about that, and you can read on the links provided). True, the first mailer intended for general access appeared only in 1996 (it was). On this moment this technology is already sufficiently refined and standardized (using the POP3, SMTP or IMAP protocols). However, the main problem still remains.

At a slightly earlier stages of the existence of Email, there were also some in Runet, which, after passing through a number of mail servers, turned the text into an unreadable and difficult to maintain set of krakozyabrs. Now this is extremely rare. But on the other hand, recently it has become a serious problem (up to 90% of all correspondence can be spam), which comes even to a newly created (registered) mailbox.

The first postal services on the RuNet appeared a long time ago. The oldest of them is e-mail from Mail.ru, which opened already in the last millennium (in 1998) and offered us the opportunity for the first time to create a free mailbox in the Russian-language interface in order to receive correspondence from our acquaintances, or some , about which I have already written in some detail.

Actually, it is this fact, most likely, that became predetermining in the current arrangement of free postal services on the runet market:

The information on the graph is true one and a half years ago, but in general it shows quite well the preferences of Runet users. But it should be borne in mind that many users, having mailboxes, for example, on Mail.ru, do not use this service itself, but redirect mail to their main mailbox (I have it, for example, in Gmail since 2005).

Before registering for email, think about ...

I would like to say right away without being tied to any service.

  1. Firstly, now it is already difficult to choose a name for your Email at will, because tens of millions of users who registered earlier have disassembled everything that is not very popular and even quite exotic. You will either have to show remarkable imagination, or choose something that is not very memorable.
  2. Secondly, in addition to the login (the name of your future e-mail), you also specify a password during registration. For convenience, many of us use simple passwords (I, for example, before hacking my mailbox had the password "123456" on it, because I thought that no one needed it for nothing), or the same password is indicated during registration in almost all services ( social networks, payment systems, forums, postal services and others). In both cases you are at great riskbecause:
    1. Absolutely any e-mail box is valuable for a cracker, because he will then, along with a bunch of others, drive it to spammers at a reasonable price, and for this you can get your account blocked in your free mail service. Hacking is carried out by automatic selection using a database of the most popular combinations or special dictionaries.
    2. By scanning programmatically the content of your email, the attacker will pull out of it accounts in social networks, monetary systems, data for accessing forums and other things necessary in the life of a hacker, which can then be sold wholesale or retail (or monetized on their own).
    3. Even if the passwords for these useful things are not found, then you can always request their recovery, and accounts in most cases will be tied back to this hacked Email.
    4. And besides, the password and login from the mailbox are, which means they will allow you to get access to many services of Mail.ru, Yandex or Google (if you rent an email address from them), which again can lead to unpleasant consequences.
    5. In addition, you may be blackmailed to return your email or confidential data stored in it. There are a lot of options, and in this case there will be, as a rule, one payment method - paid SMS.
    6. Well, and the rarest case - you will be broken deliberately by order of ill-wishers or competitors. In this case, only a really strong password and its recovery using an SMS message can help, which will come to the cell phone number specified during registration.

Therefore, use my advice when registering in any service, and in order not to forget them later,. Well, if you really want to elevate security on your computer to its apogee, then you cannot do without. As they say, if you are not paranoid, it does not mean that you are not being followed.

  3. Now, in most e-mail services, you can use your mobile phone number, which you specify when registering with the e-mail service, or you can add it later in your profile settings. Of course, you can use the control question and the answer to it in the old fashioned way (if you remember them, which is far from a fact), but SMS to your phone is much more reliable and easier.

Therefore, if you value your e-mail, it is better to provide them with a mobile phone number. Yes, to some extent you disclose your confidentiality, because by number they can, in case of a request from the competent authorities, find out your installation data. But if you are an "honest taxpayer", then the convenience of restoring access to Email will be more important to you than hypothetical exposure of your incognito. However, this conclusion is valid only in relation to the "whales" of the Internet business, because they have no reason to leak your numbers to spammers or other "radishes". IMHO.

Login to your email

It seems to be a simple question - how to enter the mail? However, there are several points here that can be useful for a beginner "Internet user" to learn. When I created this blog, the main idea was that the most difficult thing is to find answers to the simplest questions, because for most they are self-evident, and answering, for example, on forums to "stupid questions" is considered the height of indecency (as a rule) ... Therefore, I decided to dwell a little more on the problem of logging into e-mail.

In general, everything is as easy as shelling pears here, but the main thing don't get caught by accident phishers (fishermen) who, and you do not see the catch, tell them your username and password through the login form. This not only applies, but also to any other services where authorization is required (entering a username and password).

Therefore, if you work with emails via the web interface (you can, after all, the program mail client on your computer to use, which will collect correspondence from all your mailboxes), then follow a few of my simple tips:

But in general to improve the convenience of working with mail you can use, for example, special browser extensions (you will need to tell them the login and password for your mailbox), which will quickly track new messages that appear in your inbox and somehow signal you about it. You can read about similar post pribluda for browsers or. There is an article about it, but I'm afraid that very few people have already installed it, because Opera has been working on the Chrome engine for a long time.

And finally, to work with a large volume of correspondence or with a large number of e-mail boxes on different services, you may need mail client program... Personally, I use the M2 client built into the old Opera and I'm so used to it that I can't describe it in words. However, there are many other options, the most famous of which are probably Outlook from Microsoft's office suite and "The bat". True, both of them are paid. And of the free, most of all on hearing, probably, Mozilla Thunderbird from the browser developer Firefox.

Which free email service should you choose?

In principle, there are quite a few of them, but I will list only the main ones, which can be considered massive and proven enough to make a judgment about them. Of course, they are all free, but they differ in a number of indicators, such as:

  1. Ease of use (low barrier to entry)
  2. Built-in functionality
  3. Provided storage space for correspondence (e-mail box size)
  4. Security of use (protection against hacking and a system for restoring access to the account). This also includes protection against viruses in emails and against scammers (phishers). In addition, the confidentiality of working with the mailbox is also important, because your messages can be intercepted on the way to mail server... In this case, the best option would be to run an online e-mail service using the HTTPS protocol (with encryption of transmitted traffic).
  5. Effective spam filtering (spam cutters)

All these characteristics together and serve as the main selection criteria of the service where it makes sense to register your Email. Next I will give short description participating in today's tender for free email services, and at the end of the article you will find a form for voting for one or more of them. The order of their following in this list can be considered arbitrary, since it would probably be incorrect to arrange them in accordance with my personal preferences in relation to the conducted voting.

Voting: which email to register with?

Well, and finally, I suggest you take part in the voting on the choice of the most suitable e-mail box for modern realities. You can also vote for several services if you consider all of them worthy. If your option is not found in this vote, then write about it in the comments with some explanation of your choice. Thank you for reading (scrolling) the article up to this point. In fact, this can be equated with a feat.

The next field " Mailbox" - the most important. This is the email address, that is, the name of the future box (e-mail).

You need to come up with it yourself. This is not a very difficult task, since the system will actively help - suggest free names.

The main thing to remember is that the address must consist of English letters (no Russian letters!). You can also add numbers, an underscore ("_"), a period ("."), And a minus sign ("-") to it. There should be no spaces in the address.

Each user is given their own unique name. You cannot select a name for a box that is already occupied by someone. If you have invented and typed an existing e-mail, the message “A box with the same name already exists” will appear. And the system will prompt other, free options. If you like one, you can choose it.

All mail addresses consist of a name, sign @ and some kind of ending. Initially it is mail.ru

For example, in the e-mail field, I typed the name ivan. If this address is not occupied by anyone, then my mailbox will be named [email protected] And if I entered the name ivan2015, and it turned out to be free, then my mailbox would be called [email protected]

But this "tail" can be changed through a small additional field.

By clicking on it, a list will appear from which you can choose a different ending. For example, if I choose @ list.ru from this list, then my mailbox will be called [email protected]

The next field to be filled in is "Password".

The password is a few English letters and numbers with which you will open your mailbox. It is impossible to open e-mail and read letters without a password.

Its length must be at least six characters. It is imperative that the password contains both letters (only English) and numbers.

When printing it, letters and numbers will be typed in dots. This is done on purpose so that no one can spy on the password. After all, if another person recognizes him, he will be able to open your mail and read letters.

And immediately after filling in the "Password" field, write it down in a safe place so as not to accidentally forget it!

After that, the system asks for a mobile phone number. This is done so that if you lose your password from the mail, you can recover it.

The mobile number must be entered with the operator code. For example:

Don't worry, no one will get access to it and not a single ruble will be debited from the account. Just a confirmation code will be sent to this number, which will need to be typed in a special field.

If for some reason you do not want to indicate your number (or it simply does not exist), you can leave this field blank.

Well, and finally, it remains to take the last step - register. To do this, click on the appropriate button:

If, according to the system, when filling out the registration form, you made a mistake somewhere, a message will appear in the problem area

This means that you need to retype this part, otherwise Mail will not register your mail.

After clicking on the green button "Register", a small window should appear on the screen, into which you must enter the code. In the event that when filling out the questionnaire you indicated your mobile phone, the code will be sent to this number in an SMS message. And if you did NOT specify the phone number, then the code will be written in the window itself - you just need to type it and click on the "Finish" button.

After that, your new email address will open. But first, most likely, this window will appear:

These are email settings. You can choose them, or you can choose not to - just close this window.

And here is what the newly made mail.ru box looks like:

Now you can fully use it. You don't have to do anything else - this mail already belongs to you, and it is already configured to send and receive letters.

Important: the full email address is written in the upper right corner. Be sure to rewrite it. After all, it is this address that will need to be communicated to the person so that he can write you a letter.
